Traceable and Non-Traceable Pellets
There are other groups of air rifle pellets known as traceable and non-traceable. Traceable pellets have the ability to glow-in-the-dark. These are particularly handy when you are engaged in night time play scenarios. Non-traceable pellets are darker in color. This dark color makes the pellets significantly more difficult to trace where they are originating from.
Paintball Pellets
Paint filled air rifle pellets are available, and closely resemble the ammunition used in the traditional paintball. Although it’s very tempting to use this type of pellet, it’s not always advisable. It’s extremely easy for these pellets to break open prematurely or upon fire, and spill paint inside your airsoft rifle. This paint can possibly damage or destroy your airsoft rifle. Check with your manufacturer before purchasing any paint pellets to avoid any issues. Some manufacturers will actually void your warranty for the use of paint pellets, so it’s important to be aware of your individual policies concerning the use of paint.

Metal Pellets

Metal pellets are also available for use in your airsoft rifle. This type of pellet is substantially more dangerous to use because they have the ability to pierce the skin. Metallic pellets may be prohibited at your local airsoft location due to this fact. This type of projectile is considerably more accurate than others. Variations in wind factored in with the added weight of these metal pellets make long distance shooting goals much easier to attain.

Ceramic airsoft rifle pellets can also be dangerous when used in close proximity of others, so it’s important to use this type of pellet for target shooting.
There are many different types of airsoft rifle pellets, but it depends on your own personal preference and the top of airsoft gun that you own. You may wish to purchase several different types of pellets and use them all! In fact the ceramic are not being used rarely now as the preference is for Competition grade plastic pellets.
